Curriculum vitae

Dr Ralf Wintergerst is Chairman of the Management Board of Giesecke+Devrient GmbH (G+D). In addition to his duties as Group CEO, he is responsible for the central divisions of Information Systems, Group Security, Compliance Management and Auditing, Corporate Communications, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy and Development, Legal and Corporate Governance.

Dr Wintergerst joined G+D in 1998 and has held various management positions within the company. Dr Wintergerst has been a member of the Management Board since 2013 and was appointed Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of G+D in 2016. Dr Wintergerst is active in several functions related to IT security issues, including as a member of the advisory board of the Cyber Defence Institute of the Bundeswehr University in Munich and as President of Bitkom e. V., Germany’s digital association with over 2,200 member companies.

Dr Wintergerst studied business administration, holds a master’s degree in management as well as in philosophy, politics and economics (PPE) and has a doctorate in corporate governance and corporate management.
